Goal setting is a powerful tool for students to remove the distractions and help them to laser focus on what they want to achieve. As great as goal setting is it can also have negative side effects if it’s not introduced correctly. Goals must be set by the student themselves, not the teachers or parents. They must also focus on the process instead of the end results. This way the student is constantly working on improving their skills and learning new strategies to advance their level as opposed to being tempted to cheat in order to get good grades.
Other important aspects of goal setting is that goals must be written in order to give students a better shot at achieving them. Writing our goals gives us a clear understanding of what we actually want to achieve. The clarity puts us on the road that leads to the success we are looking for.
